In response to the recent seismic events that have impacted the city of Caracas and La Guaira State, Venezuela, the International Parliament for Human Rights IPHR USA announces the immediate activation of a Humanitarian Contingency Response Team to address urgent needs in the affected areas.
The team is coordinated by Prof. José Gregorio Rodríguez Tezara and comprises more than 25 specialized professionals in: disaster risk management, primary medical care, psychosocial support, humanitarian logistics, and human rights monitoring.
Immediate Objectives of the Contingency Team:
Damage assessment and census of affected families in coordination with local community leaders.
Channeling humanitarian aid prioritizing potable water, medicines, non-perishable food, and temporary shelter.
Documentation of human rights violations that may arise during the emergency response.
Liaison with international organizations to expedite technical assistance and donations.
IPHR USA reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the Venezuelan people. Human dignity cannot wait. We call on the international community, allied NGOs, and the Venezuelan diaspora to join this initiative.
